About Made-to-Order

1. We are a small brand with a big goal - to only create thoughtful, sustainable and ethically made pieces that prioritize artisanship and hand-made techniques. Launching on made-to-order allows us to avoid overproduction (cutting down on waste, a major problem in the fashion industry). It also helps us to avoid underproduction–with so many of our pieces being fully or partially made by hand, we don't have the luxury of placing quick reorders when things sell out faster than anticipated.

2. Offering on made-to-order to our most loyal followers (you!) means that our F.WORDS community will be the first to receive our new styles.

Craftsmanship takes time, we do not ascribe to the ‘fast-fashion’ model, which is highly wasteful and produces low-quality clothing.  Proudly manufactured 100% in a small atelier in New York City.  We cut each garment one by one without using pins and without stacking.  One sewer starts and finishes each and every garment.  That's incredibly unique because in typical production one garment passes through many hands before it's complete.  And it means your garment was handcrafted with love.  

Due to supply chain issues your order may be delayed. Non Made-to-Order items ship 1-2 weeks from the time of order. New season Made-to-Order ships 4-6 weeks from the time of order. Please direct any inquiries to customerservice@fwordsgear.com
